SETUP BY PLATFORM
How we set up Cal.com
Shopify
Cal.com on Shopify (Embed): Embed booking links for consultations, fittings or wholesale calls, connect calendars and route bookings into your CRM or Slack.
Shopify store builds →Shopify Plus
On Shopify Plus (Embed): everything in Shopify, plus the Plus-only hooks (checkout extensions, B2B, Launchpad) where Cal.com can use them.
Hydrogen
On a headless storefront (Hydrogen, Astro or Next.js) we connect Cal.com through Embed and own the event and data mapping ourselves.
USE CASES
What teams use it for
Consultation booking
Book-a-fitting or book-a-call buttons on product and B2B pages.
Wholesale onboarding
Approved wholesale accounts book an onboarding call automatically.
Support escalation
Complex support tickets turn into a scheduled call instead of a thread.
BEFORE YOU ADD IT
What to watch out for
TIMEZONES
Check the default timezone
Embedded calendars inherit the host timezone. We set it explicitly for US customers.
BRANDING
Match the store theme
The embed accepts theme colours; left as default it looks bolted on.
ROUTING
Round-robin needs rules
Multiple hosts need routing rules or every booking lands with one person.

Cal.com on Shopify, in practice
Cal.com is the open-source scheduling tool we embed when a store sells something that needs a conversation first — consultations, fittings, installations, wholesale onboarding — or when a service business runs its site on Shopify.
The embed is light and can be self-hosted, which matters for page speed. We place the booking flow where it belongs in the journey — on a product page as a 'book a fitting' option, after checkout for installation scheduling, or on a contact page — and pass customer name, email and order number into the booking so the team does not ask twice. Bookings post back to Shopify as customer notes or tags, and to the CRM if there is one.
Keep it simple: one event type per real service, availability that matches the calendar the team actually uses, and reminders from Cal.com itself rather than a second email tool. Stores that need paid bookings run payment through Shopify, not through Cal.com's own Stripe connection, so the order history stays in one place.
Can we embed Cal.com on a Shopify product page?
Yes. We place the booking flow where it belongs in the journey, such as a book-a-fitting button on a product page. We pass the customer's name, email and order number into the booking so the team does not ask twice.
Does Cal.com sync with Google and Outlook calendars?
We connect calendars during setup and set availability to match the calendar your team actually uses. We confirm the specific calendar providers you need when we scope the embed.
Can bookings create HubSpot contacts?
Bookings post back to Shopify as customer notes or tags, and to the CRM if there is one. We route them into your CRM or Slack during setup.
Is Cal.com free?
Cal.com is open-source and can be self-hosted, and the embed is light. Pricing depends on how you host it and the plan you need, so we confirm that when we scope the embed.
