What to watch out for

APPS

Every app costs speed

We audit apps quarterly and remove what is not earning its keep.

CHECKOUT

Checkout customisation runs through extensions and Functions, not scripts.

Why Shopify is the base layer

Every integration on this list connects to Shopify, which is why we treat Shopify itself as the integration that matters most: clean product data, the right plan, checkout extensibility turned on and a theme that other tools can hook into without breaking.

The work here is unglamorous and decides everything after it. Product data structured with metafields and metaobjects so apps and search can read it; customer tags and B2B companies set up so email, CRM and wholesale tools agree on who a customer is; Shopify Flow carrying the native automations; Shopify Markets for currencies and languages; checkout extensibility and Shopify Functions for discounts, bundles and delivery rules instead of checkout.liquid.

When a store's integrations keep breaking, the cause is usually in this layer — an app injecting into a theme it was never built for, or three apps all editing the same product field. We audit the app list and the data model first, remove what is not earning its fee, and only then connect new tools.

Questions about Shopify

Book a call
Which Shopify plan do we need?

Plus unlocks B2B, checkout extensions and Launchpad. Which plan fits depends on which of those you need, and we cover that in the audit.

What is the difference between Flow and Make?

Flow carries the native automations inside Shopify. Make is the layer we add when a workflow has to reach outside systems, and we use Flow first wherever it does the job.

When should we go headless?

Headless means building on the Storefront API with Hydrogen, Astro or Next.js, and it makes sense when a theme cannot do what the brand needs. We assess it in the audit, starting with your app list and data model.

Can we keep our apps when migrating?

We audit the app list and the data model before connecting anything, and we remove what is not earning its fee. What stays depends on whether it can hook into the new setup without breaking.
