Salesforce integration
Salesforce is the CRM for brands with an enterprise sales motion. We connect it so the store and the sales team work from the same customer record.

How we set up Salesforce
Shopify
Salesforce on Shopify (Connector): Map Shopify customers, orders and products to Salesforce objects, build the integration through the Shopify connector or middleware, and set up the reporting your sales and finance teams actually use.
Shopify store builds →Shopify Plus
On Shopify Plus (Connector + B2B): everything in Shopify, plus the Plus-only hooks (checkout extensions, B2B, Launchpad) where Salesforce can use them.
Hydrogen
On a headless storefront (Hydrogen, Astro or Next.js) we connect Salesforce through API and own the event and data mapping ourselves.
USE CASES
What teams use it for
Account-based commerce
Shopify B2B companies mapped to Salesforce accounts with contracts and pricing.
Order to opportunity
Large or repeat orders create opportunities and tasks for account owners.
Service Cloud cases
Store issues, returns and warranty requests tracked as cases with order context.

What to watch out for
SCOPE
Middleware is usually required
Field mapping, sync direction and error handling need a middleware layer or custom app. We scope this first.
DATA
Governance before sync
Salesforce admins own the object model. We agree ownership and validation rules before anything syncs.
COST
Licences and API limits
API call limits and licence tiers shape the design. Batch syncs where real time is not needed.

Salesforce on Shopify, in practice
Connecting Shopify to Salesforce is almost always for a company that already runs sales, service or an ERP in Salesforce and is adding or replacing an ecommerce storefront, rather than a DTC brand picking a CRM.
There is no official one-click app, so the integration is built: a middleware layer (Make, or a custom service for high volume) that syncs customers, orders, fulfilments and inventory between Shopify and Salesforce objects on a schedule or by webhook. We define the field map and the ownership rules first — which system wins when both change a record — and build error handling and alerts so a failed sync is visible the same hour.
The cost is in the edge cases: partial refunds, exchanges, split shipments and B2B accounts with multiple buyers. We model those in the field map before writing any code, test against a Salesforce sandbox with real order shapes, and document the whole thing so your Salesforce admin can maintain it.
Is there a native Shopify to Salesforce integration?
There is no official one-click app, so the integration is built. A middleware layer, Make or a custom service for high volume, syncs customers, orders, fulfilments and inventory between Shopify and Salesforce objects.
Can Salesforce handle Shopify B2B accounts?
Yes. On Shopify Plus, B2B companies map to Salesforce accounts with contracts and pricing. We model accounts with multiple buyers in the field map before writing any code.
How long does a Salesforce integration take?
Typically 3–6 weeks. Most of that time goes into edge cases such as partial refunds, exchanges, split shipments and multi-buyer B2B accounts, which we model first and test against a Salesforce sandbox.
Who owns the field mapping?
We define the field map and ownership rules first, including which system wins when both change a record. Your Salesforce admin owns the object model, so we agree validation rules before anything syncs and document the build for them.
